Planting is Life

By using your hands to work with the earth's soil, you can

motivate and inspire the ability to nurture and love.

In our Green Community Hubs, the phase of planting is the phase that takes place

after the Water is Life program is completed.Once water is secure for both the base

and the surrounding community we then move into our mission of food security.

We seek partners and sponsors that wish to take on this project. We set up a simple

seedling programs where we help to create simple food gardens that will

be set up to feed the orphans of the community. Many go home to care for themselves

and the gardens we motivate help to give them food to take home. We encourage the

planting of local foods that will help with buidling a strong immune system.

Because we do not specialize in agriculture, we hire professionals to teach our

hub leaders the best methods of farming. We also expect the students, children

and leaders of that Green Hub to be the ones to create and maintain the garden.

The gardens that we have created are doing well and also are supplying seedlings

that can be shared with the adults of the surrounding communities where we hold

meeting and encourage plantings at their home.

We look for sponsors who wish to study on our properties in the area of small farming.

We also look for sponsors who wish to donate garden tools, seeds or time

to our properties that are ready for this next phase of development.

Once water was installed Carisbrooke Primary, above tripled their garden size. 5 years later, they have won the National Garden Award.

We are very encouraged and motivated when we see our hubs progress.

We are very proud of Dan Shoba, our first Green Hub headmaster.

Water if Life......Water brings Hope.......Water inspires motivation

How do we sponsor a food garden?

The best way to do this is to contact our organization and we can

tell you wish of our properties is ready to start this food security project.

You can donate funds for tools, seeds or the building of a greenhouse.

It depends on your fundraising efforts or available funds.

How much does it cost to start a seedling program?

The cost for this project is about $3,000.00 USA.

We first put up a shade cloth type of greenhouse. Then we

put in shelves so that pots of seedling can be raised and shared.

We then set up a workshop to train the teachers and principal or head

of that Green Community Hub.

Who does the work?

We hire locals to help to build the greenhouse but also make this

a community project and include students to take part in the creation.

We also encourage interns or visiting students to come to our hubs

with a plan in mind to help to teach methods and help expand the

gardens.

HOW can we help locally?

Have your school (any grade including day care)

start a garden that we can then connect to an orphan village.

Invite Rachael Paulson to your school or group to inspire this

project. Teaching children to connect with Nature teaches them

about caring for others and teaches thoughtfulness along with

kindness. In a world where children are forgetting how to connect

with others,it is our job to find ways to teach them these virtues.
